Toxicology
Determination of alcohol, pharmaceutical, drug, and other substance use in hair, urine, blood, and saliva samples.
Hair: Each 1 cm of hair represents a consumption period of approximately 1 month. In this way, the analysis can go back in time as far as the length of the hair allows.
Urine: The detection of substances in urine occurs through their metabolites, which can be found in urine for a few days after consumption.
Blood: The detection window for substances in blood is particularly short, as these substances are metabolized and eliminated from the body within a few hours. On the other hand, drugs can be detected in the blood just a few minutes or hours after they are absorbed by the body.
Saliva: Toxicological analyses of saliva samples are a practice used to determine if someone has used drugs within the last 48 hours.
